  • Usability investigation and evaluation
  • Wearable computing, smart clothes, new devices and sensors


Special topics include:

  • Human factors in health and wellness applications and health care informatics.
  • Designing for specific groups (e.g. children, older adults, collaborators)
  • Evaluation ‘in the wild’.


  • Long Papers: max 8 pages
  • Short papers: max 4 pages; Ideal to report work-in-progress or ideas that are not fully developed
  • Student Forum: 4 pages overview of current student research
  • Posters/Demos Showcase: 2-page poster or demo overview.


Please submit full papers, not abstracts. Papers should be anonymised.

Papers must be formatted according to the ACM SIG proceedings template. All accepted papers will be contained in the conference proceedings and will be published with an ISBN. We are currently in the process of arranging for the proceedings to be indexed in the ACM Digital Library.

For each paper, please submit the following to Julie.doyle@casala.ie before 11:59pm March 20th
  1. Your anonymised paper in PDF format.
  2. A PDF document including:
    • Title, names and affiliations of all authors
    • Corresponding author and email address
    • Type of submission, I.e. full, short, poster, demo etc.
    • Please indicate whether you would be interested in having your paper published in the ACM proceedings.


  • March 28th – Paper submission deadline (all paper types)
  • May 3rd – Poster submission deadline
  • May 7th – Notification to authors
  • May 20th – Final papers due (hard deadline)
  • June 12th-13th – Conference
