Brian K. Reaves

Group Vice President & Global Lead, Products & Service Delivery, Design and Frontline Applications, SAP Technology & Innovation Platform 

Brian Reaves is Group Vice-President & Global Lead, Products and Service Delivery for the TIP Design and Frontline Applications organization which has overall Design responsibility across SAP as well as development responsibility for an application portfolio that includes Consumer and Enterprise Applications across the Sports, Fashion, and Healthcare domains.

Over the past 30 years, Brian has held Sr. Executive software development and management roles in a number of industries/technology sectors including Cloud Computing, Supply Chain, Finance, Telecommunications, and Utilities. Prior to his current role at SAP, Brian led development and operations for some of SAP’s advanced cloud-based technologies and has also served as the Chief Operations Officer for the Business Analytics Technologies organization. Prior to SAP, Brian served as VP, Software Development & Cloud Operations at Coghead Inc., VP of Product Development at Covigna Inc., VP of Engineering at RedKnife Inc., and CEO of Beyond Software Inc. where he led a team of innovative engineers in developing the industry’s first mainframe-based web server. Brian began his career as a software developer at Xerox Corporation and had the opportunity to participate in ground breaking technology innovation at locations across the globe including the Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) which is responsible for such well known and important developments as laser printing, Ethernet, the modern personal computer, and object-oriented programming.

Brian’s passions include international travel and professional/amateur sports. Brian holds a B.S. in Mathematics/Computer Science from UCLA.

Dónal J. Rice

Centre of Excellence of Universal Design (CEUD)

Dónal Rice is the Senior Design Advisor, ICT for the Centre of Excellence in Universal Design at the National Disability Authority of Ireland. The Centre is focused on enabling the design of environments that can be accessed, understood and used regardless of age, size and ability. To this end, his role is on infusing Universal Design into educational curricula at all levels, depending on standards in professional and industrial services and creating awareness of Universal Design within the key domain of Information Communication Technologies.

Dónal has managed the development of a number of national ICT guidelines such as the “IT Procurement Tooklit” and the Irish “Universal Design guidelines for Digital TV Equipment and Services”. He chaired the development of the CEN Workshop Agreement on Curriculum for Training Professionals in Universal Design and was the coordinating editor of the e-Accessibility Toolkit for Policy Makers (a joint ITU, G3ict, UN-GAID project).

He is currently a member of the CEN Project Team responsible for the development of the Mandate 376 European Procurement Toolkit for ICT. He represents the CEUF on a number of European networks and projects including eAccess+ and EDeAN. CEUD is an institutional member of AAATE.

Prior to joining the NDA, Dónal worked on a range of accessible and user-centred designed ICT projects, including the OASIS website (now Citizens Information).

Dónal is currently undertaking a PhD thesis in eAccessibility and legislation with the Centre for Disability Law and Policy at the National University of Ireland, Galway.
